What is our Purpose?
The purpose of this organization shall be to perpetuate the National Guard; to hold all enlisted personnel of the South Dakota National Guard in proximity with each other; to promote and maintain adequate educational instruction which will endeavor to advance the status, welfare, and professionalism of the enrolled members, and to maintain adequate national security through the endeavors of the enlisted members of the South Dakota National Guard.

Where can you find your National and State Legislation?
U.S. Senate
The composition and powers of the Senate are established by Article One of the United States Constitution. The Senate is composed of senators, each of whom represents a single state in its entirety. Each state, regardless of its population size, is equally represented by two senators who serve staggered terms of six years. There being at present 50 states in the Union, there are currently 100 senators.
U.S. House of Representatives
The United States House of Representatives is the lower house of the United States Congress, the Senate being the upper house. Together they compose the national legislature of the United States. The composition of the House is established by Article One of the United States Constitution.
South Dakota Governor
The Governor of the State of South Dakota is an elected constitutional officer, the head of the executive branch and the highest state office in South Dakota. The Governor is popularly elected every four years by a plurality and is limited to two consecutive terms.

YOUNG HERO’S PROGRAM
The South Dakota National Guard Enlisted Association sponsors a program honoring children who have displayed courage and bravery while battling life threatening disease, illness, or injuries. The primary objective of the program is to pay tribute to the courage and dignity of real life young heroes whose tremendous struggle might otherwise go unnoticed.
We have individuals involved in the South Dakota National Guard Enlisted Association’s Young Hero’s Program throughout South Dakota and can arrange for presentations anywhere in the state. To nominate a child, we ask you to fill out a brief biographical form and sign a release form authorizing us to take and use photographs to promote the program and for historical purposes.
