SDNGEA 101

When you pay your dues to your local South Dakota National Guard Enlisted Association representative, you are not only becoming a member of the State Association, you are becoming a member of the Enlisted Association of the National Guard of the United States (EANGUS).  EANGUS is the only organization whose primary interest is to represent the enlisted members of the National Guard.   EANGUS has had a loud voice in Washington, D.C. working to improve and protect your entitlements and with your continued support, EANGUS will continue its strong voice.

In the days of shrinking budgets, now more than ever our voice is vital for protection of what we already have.  That voice can carry with membership. Your membership in the South Dakota National Guard Enlisted Association and EANGUS can help us tell members of congress our story and why it’s important we keep what we have.  Very few members of Congress served in the military, so they need to be educated as to what we do.  We need our Legislators to understand our importance to the local communities, the state and nation.

Your membership provides a voice, but it also comes with other benefits. Such as:

[mt_list style=”square”]

  • Issues of the state publication – The Enlisted ECHO.
  • Issues of the national publication – The New Patriot.
  • $1,000 NO COST accidental death and dismemberment insurance (dues must be paid before 1 January of each year).
  • $500 NO COST life insurance policy.
  • Scholarships – Both state and national level
  • VA Home Loan (after six years of service in the National Guard).
  • Dental insurance. [/mt_list]

EANGUS is presently lobbying for increase pay, earlier retirement benefits and TriCare health insurance that would be available to all National Guard members.

Any specific questions you have on the Association will be enthusiastically answered by any of the members of the Executive Council.
